Between 21 – 28 May 2007, following the event organised by
Mediafax, the most important press agency from Romania -
Mediafax talks about wood industry,
WoodBusinessPortal.com, the
European B2B market for the wood industry, made the poll
WoodBusinessPortal.com talks about Romanian wood industry.
The purpose of the poll was to obtain a real image regarding some
of the most important problems of the Romanian companies from the field.
The poll was exclusively addressed to the romanian members of
WoodBusinessPortal.com and it had 6
relevant questions for the wood industry.
To the question “How do you appreciate the currency report euro/leu
influency upon your activity”, the most of the participants, 68.18% said
it was negative, while only 22.73% appreciated it being neutral, and 9.09%
pozitive.

Regarding the main problems the companies from the wood
industry are dealing with, on the first place there is the cost of the raw
material – with a percent of 36.59%, on the second place the working
capital, on the third one problems concerning the sales process and on the
last place there is the cost of human resources.
The legislation from the wood industry was considered by 59.09% of
the companies having majore gaps, 27.27% said it is unsufficiently
informed, 9.09% that it is good, but it isn’t being applied and only 4.55%
said it is good and it’s being applied.
According to the poll, the raw material of the romanian companies
who answered is turned to good as follows: finished products – 55.45%,
secondary products – 15.50% and wastes – 14.04%, and a percent of 15.01%
declared they are not manufactures.
The ISO quality certification was considered very important by the most of
the romanian companies - 54.55%.
45.45% estimated the medium net salary from their companies, refered to
the national medium net salary, being smaller, while no more than 22.73%
declared it’s at the same level. Thus, at the lowest working level, the
medium net salary offered by the questioned companies is 737.77 Ron (~ 215
EUR) and at the management level – 1774.11 Ron (~ 540 EUR).
