Earlier this week, in Sfantul Gheorghe the agreement that would establish a Regional Cluster for Wood - „Pro Wood" for the Covasna – Brasov region was signed. This act is the first of its kind in our country.
The purpose of this protocol is to harmonize and to represent the interests of specialised companies found in the counties of Covasna and Brasov, to enhance competitiveness through joint participation in foreign markets, to offer professional training for managers and employees, to establish and administrate a database and know-how, to collaborate with specialised institutions, local authorities, to working closely with research and innovation institutions, educational institutions and other national or international clusters.
Several professional organisations, local authorities and educational offices have formed a partnership for this project, as well as local educational institutions and authorities of the Brasov and Covasna counties.
The project was financed by the European Commission through the Research Programme FP7; the implementation period is 2008-2010; the granted budget was estimated at 200,000 euros.
